SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE  
Purpose of Role To drive sustainable business growth by identifying and pursuing new project opportunities, building strategic relationships, managing tendering processes, and ensuring market expansion across sectors such as Infrastructure, Power, Railways, Highways & Renewable Energy Development.
         
SECTION III:  JOB REQUIREMENTS   
Total Experience in Yrs. (Minimum) 20 + years of experience in Business Development in Engineering & Construction / EPC / Infrastructure sector. 
Qualification B.E. / B.Tech in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
MBA / PGDM in Marketing / Business Strategy / Infrastructure Management
Specific Certification / Additional Certifications (if Any) Certified Proposal Management Professional (CPMP) – APMP, Lean Six Sigma (for process improvement in BD), PMP (if also managing pursuit projects or capture plans)
Technical/ Functional Skills Requirement Strong understanding of government procurement policies, tender lifecycle, and bid strategy, Excellent networking, relationship management, and negotiation skills, High proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and BD pipeline tracking platforms, Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, Ability to coordinate large multi-disciplinary teams under pressure.

SECTION IV: ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Develop and execute short- and long-term business development strategies in alignment with organizational growth targets, Identify new business opportunities in public and private sector infrastructure projects (domestic and international), Track government policy updates, EPC/DBFOT bidding opportunities, and sectoral trends for proactive positioning, Forge strategic alliances and joint ventures with national and global partners to expand business footprint. 30%
Financial Management Define revenue targets, order book targets, and win rates to align with company financial goals, Participate in bid pricing and financial structuring strategies in collaboration with the Estimation and Finance teams, Monitor business acquisition costs (marketing, proposal development, travel, etc.) to ensure ROI, Support project feasibility and investment appraisals from a business viability perspective. 30%
Operational Oversee the proposal development process, ensuring timely and compliant submissions for tenders, RFPs, EOIs, and prequalification documents, Ensure effective client communication and relationship management throughout the bidding and post-award process. 15%
People Management Lead cross-functional teams for bid preparation including Estimation, Legal, Technical, and Project Planning, Mentor and guide BD team members across geographies to enhance capability and market coverage, Drive continuous improvement in the pre-sales and BD function through digitization, analytics, and automation. 25%
