SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE  
Purpose of Role To implement and monitor EHS systems and practices at the highway project site to ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and organizational EHS requirements, thereby minimizing risks and promoting a culture of safety.
         
SECTION III:  JOB REQUIREMENTS   
Total Experience in Yrs. (Minimum) 12+ years in EHS related works in Highway projects.
Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) or Science (Physics/Chemistry), Preferably with Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Safety or Environmental Management.
Specific Certification / Additional Certifications (if Any) Certification in Industrial Safety from a Government-recognized institute (Mandatory), NEBOSH / IOSH / ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Auditor Training (Preferred).
Technical/ Functional Skills Requirement Knowledge of EHS laws and statutory compliance, Hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA), Incident investigation and root cause analysis, Emergency preparedness & response planning, Conducting toolbox talks, safety drills, and EHS audits, Proficiency in preparing EHS reports and documentation, Familiarity with EHS software, ERP, and Microsoft Office tools.

Strategic Implement EHS policy and project-specific safety plan in alignment with corporate EHS strategy, Promote safety-first culture across all levels at the site, Lead the development of safety goals and targets aligned to project timelines and nature, Support execution of site-level Zero Harm initiatives. 20%
Financial Management Ensure optimal utilization of EHS budget for training, PPE, and safety equipment, Monitor cost of non-compliance and incidents; implement mitigation strategies, Recommend procurement of safety tools and equipment based on site needs and risk profile. 10%
Operational Conduct daily site safety inspections and compliance checks, Monitor and ensure usage of PPE and safe practices across work fronts, Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and job-specific trainings, Maintain records for inspections, permits, and statutory compliances, Conduct emergency mock drills and ensure firefighting equipment readiness. 50%
People Management Lead accident/incident investigations and RCA, Supervise and mentor junior EHS staff, Coordinate safety audits and ensure closure of non-conformities, Interface with EPC contractors and vendors to align safety practices. 20%
