Key Responsibilities:
1. Tender Management & Strategy

Lead the end-to-end tendering process for T&D EPC projects (Transmission lines, Substations, Underground cabling, and Distribution systems).

Review tender documents (RFQs, RFPs, NITs) to identify scope, eligibility, and technical/commercial requirements.

Prepare bid strategy and pricing approach in coordination with business development, engineering, procurement, and finance teams.

Ensure timely submission of EOIs, pre-qualifications, and competitive bids for both government and private clients.

Conduct risk analysis and sensitivity studies to optimize bid pricing and mitigate commercial risks.
2. Cost Estimation & Budgeting

Prepare detailed cost estimates covering civil, electrical, mechanical, and control & instrumentation works for T&D projects.

Develop BOQs and activity-wise costing using benchmark data and rate analysis.

Liaise with procurement and vendor management teams to obtain updated prices for key materials (towers, conductors, insulators, cables, transformers, GIS/AIS equipment, etc.).

Analyze cost trends, material indices, and logistics costs to maintain competitive yet realistic pricing.

Build and maintain a cost database for various project components and geographies.
3. Technical Coordination

Coordinate with design and engineering teams to assess technical feasibility, design optimization, and scope definition.

Evaluate alternate design or construction methodologies to improve cost competitiveness.

Review technical clarifications and deviations during tender stage.

Work closely with quality and safety teams to ensure compliance with standards (IS, IEC, CEA, and client specifications).
4. Commercial Evaluation & Negotiation

Review contract clauses, payment terms, taxes, duties, and financial conditions to ensure favorable bid positioning.

Support management in bid presentation, client clarifications, and negotiations.

Conduct post-bid analysis and lessons learned from won/lost bids to improve future competitiveness.
5. Cross-Functional & Strategic Support

Collaborate with Business Development, Project, and Finance teams for pipeline tracking and business planning.

Provide input for strategic pricing models, market intelligence, and competitor benchmarking.
-
Participate in developing new market segments (e.g., HVDC, Smart Grids, or BESS-integrated T&D systems).
