SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE  
Purpose of Role To lead and ensure effective implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems at the railway project site, ensuring compliance with RDSO/IR standards, project specifications, and statutory guidelines throughout the construction lifecycle.
         
SECTION III:  JOB REQUIREMENTS   
Total Experience in Yrs. (Minimum) 8 + years of experience in a simlar role
Qualification B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Minimum)
M.Tech in Transportation or Quality Engineering
Specific Certification / Additional Certifications (if Any) ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor, QA/QC Certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., NICMAR, QCI), Certification in Construction Materials Testing, Awareness of BIS codes and specifications for railway construction.
Technical/ Functional Skills Requirement In-depth knowledge of RDSO specifications, IR track and structural standards, Proficient in lab and field testing for concrete, ballast, steel, geotechnical and earthwork materials, Familiarity with quality software and ERP modules, Experience with ITPs, QAPs, Method Statements, and checklists, Strong analytical and documentation skills, Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic), and report writing.

Strategic Prepare and implement the Project Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements in line with railway standards (RDSO, IR, IRC, IS), Align quality control processes with project milestones, client expectations, and internal compliance metrics, Coordinate with design, execution, and safety teams to ensure high standards of structural integrity and material quality. 25%
Financial Management Prevent cost escalations and material wastage by implementing proactive quality checks and monitoring, Support project billing by ensuring timely submission of quality documentation, test reports, and compliance records, Track material rejection, rework, and downtime costs to optimize quality expenditures, Recommend technically compliant yet cost-effective alternatives for construction materials or procedures. 20%
Operational Ensure execution of material testing (ballast, concrete, steel, aggregates, geotechnical materials) and field quality control during formation, bridges, track laying, and station works, Establish, calibrate, and maintain quality testing labs at site, Maintain detailed and traceable quality documentation as per project norms and contractual obligations, Ensure HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) compliance in testing and inspection activities, Conduct quality risk assessments, gap analysis, and drive root cause analysis of NCRs and site issues, Lead internal quality audits and assist with external audits by clients or authorities. 40%
People Management Supervise and manage QA/QC engineers, technicians, and lab staff to carry out inspections and tests, Train junior staff on RDSO/IR standards and QA/QC procedures. 15%
