A. P&M Financial Performance & Cost Management

  • Drive P&M profit margins against approved targets and ensure financial performance of the division.
  • Monitor P&M budgets, operating expenses, repair and maintenance costs, fuel/consumable costs and other asset-related expenditure.
  • Ensure budget adherence and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
  • Analyse equipment-wise/site-wise cost performance and initiate corrective actions for adverse variances.
  • Improve asset economics through optimum utilisation, cost control and lifecycle planning.
  • Monitor and improve Return on Assets (ROA) across all project sites.

B. Equipment Utilisation & Productivity

  • Drive optimum fleet utilisation across all projects and locations.
  • Identify and reduce idle, underutilised and non-productive equipment.
  • Develop equipment utilisation benchmarks and monitor performance against defined targets.
  • Ensure timely redeployment of surplus/idle equipment to projects where required.
  • Analyse equipment productivity, operating hours, downtime and utilisation trends.
  • Drive manpower optimisation in line with equipment productivity and operational requirements.

C. Deployment & Resource Planning

  • Ensure timely deployment of P&M assets as per project equipment requirement plans.
  • Review project-wise equipment forecasts and ensure availability of appropriate machinery at the required time.
  • Coordinate with Project Teams to understand upcoming equipment requirements and deployment schedules.
  • Optimise inter-project movement and allocation of machinery to maximise asset utilisation.
  • Ensure mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment is planned efficiently and cost-effectively.

D. Maintenance & Reliability Management

  • Establish and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance systems across the division.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance compliance for critical and high-value equipment.
  • Drive reduction in equipment breakdowns, downtime and repeat failures.
  • Monitor maintenance cost, MTBF, MTTR, equipment availability and reliability indicators.
  • Ensure effective breakdown management and timely restoration of critical equipment.
  • Analyse recurring breakdowns and implement root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Standardise maintenance practices and technical processes across project sites.

E. Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Develop and implement asset lifecycle strategies covering:
    • Acquisition
    • Deployment
    • Utilisation
    • Overhaul
    • Replacement
    • Redeployment
    • Disposal
  • Identify assets requiring major overhaul, replacement or disposal based on age, condition, utilisation and economic viability.
  • Drive disposal/replacement of obsolete, uneconomical and chronically idle assets.
  • Maintain an optimum balance between owned, hired and outsourced equipment.
  • Support CAPEX planning and business cases for new equipment acquisition.

F. Critical Spares & Consumables Management

  • Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables required for uninterrupted equipment operations.
  • Establish critical spare identification and minimum/maximum stock norms.
  • Monitor stock-outs, slow-moving and non-moving spares.
  • Coordinate with SCM and Stores for timely procurement and availability of critical spares.
  • Optimise inventory levels while ensuring equipment availability.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical/high-lead-time components.

G. Project Support & P&M Bottleneck Resolution

  • Provide proactive P&M support to project teams for uninterrupted execution.
  • Identify and resolve P&M-related bottlenecks impacting project progress.
  • Coordinate with Project, SCM, Stores, Finance, HR and other functions for timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Escalate critical equipment-related risks and implement appropriate recovery plans.
  • Ensure P&M resources are aligned with project execution priorities.

H. Specialised Equipment Management

Provide oversight and performance monitoring of specialised P&M functions, including:

  • Piling Equipment
  • Girder Launching Systems
  • Crusher Plants
  • Earthwork Fleet
  • Other specialised/high-value construction equipment

Responsibilities include:

  • Equipment availability and productivity monitoring.
  • Technical performance evaluation.
  • Maintenance planning.
  • Resource and manpower optimisation.
  • Cost and utilisation monitoring.
  • Resolution of technical/operational bottlenecks.
  • Deployment planning in accordance with project requirements.

I. Vendor & AMC Management

  • Manage performance of equipment vendors, OEMs and AMC service providers.
  • Define and monitor vendor/AMC performance parameters and SLAs.
  • Ensure timely preventive maintenance and service support under AMC arrangements.
  • Evaluate vendor performance on quality, response time, cost and equipment uptime.
  • Negotiate and optimise AMC/service costs in coordination with SCM.
  • Take corrective action against underperforming vendors.

J. P&M MIS & Performance Reporting

  • Ensure timely submission of accurate P&M MIS and utilisation reports.
  • Establish standardised divisional P&M dashboards and performance metrics.
  • Monitor and report:
    • Equipment utilisation
    • Equipment availability
    • Idle equipment
    • Breakdown hours
    • Maintenance cost
    • Fuel/consumable performance
    • Fleet productivity
    • ROA
    • P&M profitability
    • Budget vs. actual expenditure
    • Preventive maintenance compliance
  • Provide management with actionable insights and recommendations based on P&M data.

K. Safety, People Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a strong P&M safety culture across all project locations.
  • Ensure compliance with equipment safety procedures, statutory requirements and organisational safety standards.
  • Promote regular operator, mechanic and technical team safety training.
  • Develop P&M talent through structured training, coaching and capability-building initiatives.
  • Identify high-potential employees and develop succession plans for critical P&M positions.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, performance management and continuous improvement.
  • Implement best practices, standardisation, automation and technology-driven P&M solutions.
  • Drive Kaizen/continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reliability and cost efficiency.
