1. Role Purpose
The Sr. Manager/ Manager/ Assistant Manager – Solar O&M will be responsible for leading the end-to-end operations and maintenance of utility-scale solar PV plants, ensuring maximum plant availability, generation performance, and safety compliance. The role includes managing site teams, optimizing generation KPIs, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across O&M operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Plant Operations & Performance

Ensure smooth operation of all solar PV assets (ground-mounted/rooftop/utility scale).

Monitor daily generation, PR, CUF, specific yield and energy losses.

Identify and resolve performance issues through root cause analysis (RCA).

Develop and implement generation improvement plans.
-
Review SCADA/monitoring dashboards and ensure accuracy of data.
B. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

Prepare yearly PM schedules for modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear and balance of plant (BoP).

Ensure timely execution of PM activities with proper documentation.

Lead resolution of breakdown maintenance and major faults.

Conduct thermography, IV-curve testing, string scanning, module cleaning audits, etc.
C. Team & Contractor Management

Lead site O&M teams: Engineers, Technicians, and Contractors.

Implement skill development and competency improvement programs.
-
Manage service vendors (inverters, trackers, cleaning systems, transformers).
-
Ensure adherence to SLAs, AMC terms, and vendor performance metrics.
D. Safety, Compliance & Quality

Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards—LOTO, PTW, isolation procedures.

Conduct regular safety audits, toolbox talks, and on-site HIRA/JSA.

Ensure plant compliance with statutory requirements (CEA, DISCOM, Pollution Board).

Maintain quality of O&M work as per ISO standards.
E. Planning, Budgeting & MIS

Prepare annual O&M budget (opex, spares, manpower, consumables).

Maintain inventory of critical and insurance spares.
-
Review and approve PR reports, MIS dashboards, breakdown reports, and RCA reports.

Provide management monthly reviews and presentations.
F. Asset Life Management

Drive inverter refurbishments, module replacement planning, and degradation analysis.

Evaluate plant health, asset aging and long-term reliability.
-
Support repowering/retrofit projects.
