| SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE | ||||
| Purpose of Role | To lead and ensure implementation of all Environment, Health & Safety standards, regulatory compliance, client-specific EHS requirements, and internal SOPs at railway project sites, with a goal to foster a safe work environment and prevent incidents. | |||
| SECTION III: JOB REQUIREMENTS | ||||
| Total Experience in Yrs. (Minimum) | 12 + years in EHS related works in Railway projects. | |||
| Qualification | B.E./B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Environmental Engineering or B.Sc. (Environment or Industrial Safety), Postgraduate qualification in Industrial Safety / Environment Management preferred. | |||
| Specific Certification / Additional Certifications (if Any) | Industrial Safety Diploma (DGFASLI / State Technical Board recognized) (Mandatory), NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 & 14001 Lead Auditor, Fire & Emergency Response Certification (Preferred). | |||
| Technical/ Functional Skills Requirement | Statutory knowledge of Railways Act, BOCW Act, and Environment Protection laws, Proficient in HIRA, JSA, incident investigation & EHS dashboards, Emergency response & disaster management protocols, Knowledge of railway-specific construction safety risks (OHE, working at height, confined space), Familiarity with Indian Railway safety regulations, MoR, RDSO guidelines | |||

| Strategic | Translate corporate and BU-level EHS policy into site-specific strategies, Lead development and enforcement of project safety execution plans, Implement risk mitigation strategies proactively aligned with rail infrastructure safety challenges, Promote "Zero Harm" and sustainability initiatives at site. | 25% | ||
| Financial Management | Develop and manage EHS budget including PPEs, trainings, audits, and certifications, Ensure efficient use of safety resources and minimize cost of incidents, Recommend investments in monitoring equipment, barricading tools, and other risk-specific controls. | 25% | ||
| Operational | Conduct trainings, inductions, toolbox talks and behavioral safety initiatives, Ensure accurate documentation for EHS MIS, statutory reports, and legal compliances, Monitor compliance to method statements and work permits, Lead investigation of near-misses/incidents and implementation of CAPA. | 40% | ||
| People Management | Supervise implementation of daily safety protocols across all working fronts including track laying, tunneling, electrification, bridge and station work, Mentor junior EHS staff and site supervisors on safety practices, Coordinate with client and consultants during safety audits and inspections. | 10% | ||
