Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Analysis

Perform structural design and analysis of transmission line towers, gantries, and foundations using standard design software (e.g., PLS-TOWER, STADD Pro, TOWER, SAP2000, etc.).

Conduct load calculations for various configurations (wind, seismic, broken wire, and erection load cases) as per IS/IEC/ASCE standards.
-
Prepare and review design basis reports, design calculations, and optimization studies.
-
Ensure adherence to technical specifications, safety, and reliability requirements.
2. Drawing & Documentation

Review and approve detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for towers and foundations.

Coordinate with drafting teams for preparation and checking of general arrangement (GA) drawings.

Maintain and control versioning of design documents, revisions, and as-built drawings.
3. Technical Coordination
-
Collaborate with civil, electrical, and construction teams for integration of design with site requirements.

Resolve site design issues and provide technical support during execution and erection stages.

Interface with clients, consultants, and vendors for design approvals and clarifications.
4. Standards, Codes & Compliance
-
Ensure all designs conform to applicable standards (IS 802, IS 5613, IEC 60826, ASCE 10, etc.).

Incorporate client-specific and utility-specific technical requirements (e.g., POWERGRID, state utilities).
-
Maintain awareness of latest technologies and design practices in tower and foundation engineering.
5. Optimization & Innovation
-
Develop optimized designs for weight and cost reduction without compromising safety or performance.

Evaluate new materials, design methods, and software tools for continuous improvement.
-
Conduct comparative analysis of self-supporting, guyed, and monopole structures when applicable.
6. Quality & Review
-
Conduct peer reviews and validation of design outputs.

Ensure quality assurance and compliance through design audits and documentation checks.
-
Support tendering teams with design inputs, technical clarifications, and estimation data.
