Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Evaluation & Selection

Evaluate and compare various BESS technologies (Li-ion, LFP, NMC, flow batteries, etc.) based on technical and commercial suitability.

Assess system configurations, battery chemistries, lifecycle costs, and safety parameters.

Liaise with OEMs and technology providers to finalize system specifications and performance guarantees.

Benchmark global best practices and emerging technologies in energy storage systems.
2. System Design & Engineering Support

Define system architecture including PCS, BMS, EMS, HVAC, fire protection, and auxiliary systems.

Review and validate detailed design documents, layouts, and control philosophies.

Ensure proper integration of BESS with solar, wind, or grid systems (hybrid applications).

Support the preparation of single-line diagrams (SLDs), control logic, and protection schemes.
3. Technical Due Diligence & Feasibility

Support techno-commercial feasibility studies and system sizing for new projects.

Conduct performance simulations and degradation analyses.
-
Evaluate grid compliance, safety, and environmental considerations.
-
Support bid documentation and tender evaluation from a technical standpoint.
4. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

Interface with equipment manufacturers, consultants, and EPC partners.

Review vendor offers and support procurement in technical evaluation (TBE).

Provide technical inputs during contract finalization and FAT/SAT activities.

Collaborate with project execution and commissioning teams to ensure design intent is implemented.
5. Standards, Safety & Compliance

Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, UL, and CEA standards applicable to BESS.

Review safety aspects related to thermal management, battery handling, and fire suppression.

Develop and implement technical guidelines and SOPs for BESS design and operation.
6. Innovation & Knowledge Development
-
Track advancements in energy storage technologies and digital control systems.
-
Support R&D, pilot projects, and field performance benchmarking.
-
Conduct internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions on BESS technologies.
