SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE  
Purpose of Role To manage contract administration, risk mitigation, and claims documentation at the railway project site, ensuring alignment with contractual terms, identification of commercial opportunities, and preparation of compliant claims and variations to support project profitability and legal positioning.
         
SECTION III:  JOB REQUIREMENTS   
Total Experience in Yrs. (Minimum) 8 + years in Contracts related works in Railway Projects.
Qualification B.E./B.Tech (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) from a recognized institution
PG Diploma / MBA in Contract Management / Construction Law / Infrastructure Management (preferred).
Specific Certification / Additional Certifications (if Any) Certification in FIDIC, Railway Contracts, Public Procurement, or Arbitration preferred.
Technical/ Functional Skills Requirement Strong understanding of Railway contract models (IRCON, RVNL, DFCCIL, etc.) and standard conditions (GCC/SCC), Experience in managing BOQ contracts, rate revisions, variation orders, EOT, and disruption claims, Ability to analyze project events, prepare notices, draft correspondences, and maintain documentation, Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) or Contract Management tools, Awareness of arbitration, claim resolution procedures, and client negotiation practices in rail sector.

SECTION IV: ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Interpret and analyze key contractual obligations to assess risks and entitlements, Monitor contractual compliance across project milestones and provide risk alerts, Support formulation of claim strategies aligned with legal and commercial positioning, Liaise with HO Contracts for policy interpretation and alignment on critical issues. 25%
Financial Management Prepare, validate, and submit claims including EOT, cost escalation, variation orders, and disruption/delay damages, Track recoverables, commercial exposure, and liabilities against contractual deliverables, Analyze cost impacts of deviations, design changes, and contractual delays, Ensure documentation for audits, arbitration, or dispute resolution processes is maintained. 25%
Operational Maintain site-level contractual records and event logs for correspondence and claims, Coordinate with execution and planning teams to gather supporting evidence and technical documents, Maintain MIS reports, trackers, and claims dashboards for regular updates to management. 40%
People Management Lead and mentor junior contracts personnel and ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables, Manage communication with client representatives for notices, clarifications, and claims follow-ups. 10%
