SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE  
Purpose of Role To ensure a safe working environment by implementing, monitoring, and enforcing EHS policies and statutory norms at the railway project site, thereby minimizing risks, preventing incidents, and promoting a safety-first culture among all personnel.
         
SECTION III:  JOB REQUIREMENTS   
Total Experience in Yrs. (Minimum) 12 + years of total experience with 5+ years in leading EHS in Urban infra projects, Infrastructure projects
Qualification M.E./ M. Tech/  BE/B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Science Graduate
Post Diploma in Industrial Safety from State Technical Board / RLI / CLI / diploma in industrial safety (state or, central technical council)
Specific Certification / Additional Certifications (if Any) Safety Diploma (RLI / CLI / State Tech Board) (mandatory), First Aid & Fire Safety Training Certification (mandatory), NEBOSH / IOSH Certification (preferred), BOCW Safety Officer Registration (optional as per state laws)
Technical/ Functional Skills Requirement In-depth knowledge of BOCW Act, Environmental Acts, Capability to perform risk assessments, JSAs, and incident investigation, Strong knowledge of highway construction methods and associated safety hazards, Ability to influence behavior and enforce compliance among a large and diverse workforce.

SECTION IV: ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Implement the company’s EHS policy, strategy, and objectives at the project site, Establish site-specific EHS plans in alignment with railway construction risks and regulatory requirements, Drive a safety culture through awareness programs, visible leadership, and employee engagement, Identify potential hazards specific to highway construction such as earthworks, equipment movement, traffic interface, etc., and develop mitigation strategies. 25%
Financial Management Ensure optimal use of EHS budget allocated for PPE, training, safety signage, and infrastructure, Avoid penalties and losses by ensuring compliance with local EHS regulations and minimizing accidents, Support procurement planning for site safety needs (barricades, lighting, equipment safety kits, etc.) 25%
Operational Conduct daily toolbox talks, job safety analysis (JSA), and regular safety inspections, Maintain site safety records – accident logs, near-miss reports, inspection checklists, etc, Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions, Track cost implications of incidents and corrective measures taken. 30%
People Management Supervise, mentor, and manage site safety personnel and ensure they are deployed effectively, Conduct mock drills, emergency preparedness training, and first aid awareness programs, Coordinate induction training for new workers, contractors, and visitors on site safety protocols. 20%
