Job Summary

The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety practices at the project site. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety standards, conducting inspections, identifying unsafe acts and conditions, and promoting a strong safety culture across the project site, particularly in urban infrastructure and metro construction activities.

Qualification :

  • Diploma in Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Safety from State or Central Technical Council.

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in Urban Infrastructure / Metro / Railway / Large Construction Projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safety induction and orientation programs to workers, staff, and subcontractors.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.

  • Identify and report Unsafe Acts (UA) and Unsafe Conditions (UC) and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

  • Implement and monitor the Permit to Work (PTW) system at site.

  • Ensure compliance with Work at Height safety procedures and regulations.

  • Monitor and manage traffic diversion and traffic control arrangements at project locations.

  • Ensure safety compliance during excavation activities.

  • Monitor safety practices during tunnelling works.

  • Ensure safe practices in Cut & Cover construction activities.

  • Maintain safety records, reports, documentation, and audit records.

  • Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and compliance checks.

  • Support the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.

  • Promote a safety culture and awareness among workers and site staff.


Key Skills

  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.

  • Understanding of metro / urban infrastructure construction safety practices.

  • Ability to identify hazards and implement risk control measures.

  • Good documentation and reporting skills.

  • Strong communication and training abilities.
