Provide end-to-end engineering support during project execution — covering civil, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
-
Review detailed engineering documents (SLDs, layout drawings, cable routing, inverter sizing, structure design, etc.) and ensure alignment with project specifications.
-
Coordinate between engineering, procurement, and construction teams to resolve design and technical issues.
-
Support project managers with technical inputs for scheduling, resource planning, and interface management.
-
Ensure all designs are optimized for constructability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
2. Design Review & Standardization
-
Oversee design validation of EPC and vendor engineering submissions.
-
Develop and maintain standard design templates, specifications, and quality benchmarks for solar projects.
-
Evaluate and approve key design changes during execution to ensure performance and compliance.
-
Implement engineering review processes to reduce rework and interface gaps.
3. Technology Evaluation & Integration
-
Evaluate and recommend emerging solar technologies (modules, inverters, trackers, SCADA, energy storage, hybrid systems).
-
Conduct techno-commercial comparisons and due diligence for new products and suppliers.
-
Drive adoption of digital tools, automation, and monitoring technologies for engineering and project management.
-
Support hybrid (Solar + BESS) integration and grid-compliance studies as per project requirements.
4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
-
Ensure all engineering and execution activities adhere to applicable codes, standards, and statutory regulations (MNRE, CEA, IEC, IS, IEEE).
-
Conduct design safety reviews, constructability audits, and quality checks during project execution.
-
Work closely with QA/QC and HSE teams to embed technical safety practices in design and construction.
5. Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Coordination
-
Coordinate with procurement for technical evaluation of bids and vendor qualification.
-
Interface with clients, consultants, utilities, and statutory authorities for design approvals and clarifications.
-
Collaborate with the commissioning team for successful handover and performance validation.
6. Process Improvement & Knowledge Management
-
Identify recurring technical challenges and drive root-cause analysis for design or execution issues.
-
Document engineering learnings, lessons, and best practices for continuous improvement.
-
Mentor and guide engineering teams and site engineers on new technologies and technical standards.
Key Deliverables / KPIs:
