1. Workshop Operations & Maintenance

  • Plan, supervise, and execute preventive, breakdown, and major maintenance of plant & machinery including:
    • Earthmoving equipment (Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, etc.)
    • Compaction equipment (Vibratory Rollers, Pneumatic Rollers, etc.)
    • Batching plants, Crushers, Pavers, WMM Plants, etc.
    • Haulage & support equipment (Dumpers, Tippers, Cranes, DG sets, etc.)
  • Ensure maximum equipment availability and uptime as per project requirements.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults and ensure timely rectification.

2. Preventive Maintenance & Planning

  • OEM-recommended preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor service intervals, breakdown trends, and MTTR/MTBF.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, job cards, service records, and history sheets.
  • Coordinate with operations team to plan maintenance without impacting production.

3. Spares, Inventory & Cost Control

  • Ensure availability of critical spares, consumables, oils, and filters.
  • Control MSL and prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Verify spares consumption and ensure proper cost booking to respective equipment/projects.
  • Support cost optimization through:
    • Repair vs replacement analysis
    • Alternate spares/vendor development (where permitted)
    • Reduction of repeat breakdowns

4. Manpower Management

  • Supervise and guide:
    • Mechanics, electricians, fitters, welders, helpers
  • Allocate work, monitor productivity, and ensure skill-based deployment.
  • Identify training needs and support on-the-job skill enhancement.
  • Ensure discipline, attendance, and compliance with company policies.

5. Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and SOPs within workshop and site maintenance activities.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for workshop staff.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Company safety policy
    • OEM guidelines
    • Statutory requirements (where applicable)

6. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with:
    • Project team for equipment deployment
    • Stores for spares procurement
    • Accounts for booking and vendor payments
    • HO P&M team for technical support and approvals
  • Support equipment mobilization/demobilization activities across projects.

7. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on:
    • Equipment availability & downtime
    • Breakdown analysis
    • Maintenance cost & spares consumption
    • Workshop manpower productivity
  • Support audits and management reviews with accurate data.
