Job Title: Deputy Manager – Planning

Position Overview:

The Deputy Manager – Planning will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules, ensuring timely execution of all project activities in alignment with contractual milestones and company objectives. The role involves coordination with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients to ensure efficient project planning and progress tracking for large-scale railway or metro infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project, covering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

  • Prepare baseline schedules, progress reports, S-curves, and resource histograms.

  • Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or bottlenecks; propose corrective actions to maintain timelines.

  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, contracts, and execution teams for progress updates and planning inputs.

  • Conduct regular progress review meetings with internal stakeholders and clients.

  • Support project cost control and budgeting activities, ensuring synchronization between schedule and cost data.

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like schedule variance and productivity indices.

  • Prepare and submit MIS reports, dashboards, and monthly planning summaries to management and clients.

  • Support delay analysis and extension of time (EOT) claims by providing planning and schedule documentation.

  • Ensure adherence to contractual schedules, quality standards, and safety norms.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Project Management preferred).

  • 7–10 years of experience in project planning, preferably in Railway, Metro, or Infrastructure projects.

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel-based planning tools.

  • Good understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and interdependencies.

  • Experience in preparing delay analysis and progress monitoring reports.

  • Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
