1. Role Purpose
To support project teams in executing day-to-day site activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, safety norms, and timely progress. The Diploma Engineering Trainee will undergo structured on-the-job training to develop competencies required for future technical and supervisory roles in infrastructure projects.
2. Key Responsibilities (Role-Based)
A. Site Execution

Assist in supervising daily construction activities as per drawings and specifications.

Monitor contractor/labour productivity and report deviations.

Ensure proper utilisation of materials, machinery, and manpower.

Support the preparation of daily progress reports and work measurements.
B. Planning & Monitoring
-
Assist in preparing weekly and monthly project schedules.
-
Track progress against the baseline plan and identify delays.
-
Coordinate with site teams to collect daily progress data.
-
Support preparation of DPRs, WPRs, and MIS reports.
C. Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Support quality engineers in conducting tests on materials and work (concrete, soil, aggregates, etc.).

Maintain quality records, checklists, and inspection registers.
-
Inspect work at various stages to ensure compliance with IS codes and project specifications.

Report non-conformities and help implement corrective actions.
D. Safety & Environment

Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and promote safe work practices.

Participate in Toolbox Talks and safety inspections.

Monitor use of PPE, barricading, and safety equipment at site.

Assist in documenting incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
E. Documentation & Coordination

Maintain site records, drawings, checklists, and logs.

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and other engineering teams.

Support material reconciliation and inventory tracking.

Assist in preparing as-built drawings and handover documentation.
3. Required Qualifications
-
Diploma in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (as applicable).

Basic understanding of construction processes in roads, bridges, railways, buildings, or related infrastructure.

Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office; exposure to construction software is an advantage.
