Job Title:

QA & QC Manager


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance & Control:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive QA/QC plan for highway construction.
    • Establish quality benchmarks and ensure adherence to standards (e.g., IRC, MORTH specifications).
  2. Inspections & Testing:

    • Oversee testing of materials (e.g., aggregates, asphalt, concrete, soil) as per specifications.
    • Supervise field tests, laboratory tests, and inspections.
  3. Documentation:

    • Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, including test results, inspection reports, and certifications.
    • Ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance checks.
  4. Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
    • Address non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  5. Team Coordination:

    • Train and guide the QA/QC team.
    • Liaise with project managers, contractors, and external consultants to resolve quality-related issues.
  6. Audits:

    • Conduct regular internal and external quality audits.
    • Implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
  7. Reporting:

    • Prepare quality reports for stakeholders, highlighting project progress and quality metrics.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
    • Additional certifications in QA/QC processes (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in QA/QC roles, specifically in highway construction projects.
    • Familiarity with national and international standards for road construction.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in quality testing tools and software.
    • Strong understanding of construction materials and methods.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Percentage of tests and inspections passed on the first attempt.
  • Reduction in non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Timeliness in addressing and resolving quality issues.
  • Positive feedback from audits and client inspections.
