Position Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Finishing Works will oversee and manage all finishing activities in the Structures Department at the railway project site. The role ensures that finishing works (plastering, flooring, painting, cladding, and other architectural finishes) are executed with high quality, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and engineering best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

Execution & Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate all finishing works for structural elements, including walls, floors, ceilings, and external finishes.

  • Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

  • Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain work schedules.

Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Monitor finishing work quality through regular inspections and site checks.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, construction codes, and project specifications.

  • Prepare and maintain quality checklists and defect reports.

Planning & Reporting:

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for finishing activities.

  • Track progress against project timelines and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.

  • Identify potential delays or issues and suggest corrective actions.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management:

  • Liaise with design teams, client representatives, and contractors for clarifications and approvals.

  • Resolve technical issues related to finishing works at site.

  • Support project management in procurement and utilization of finishing materials.

Cost & Resource Management:

  • Monitor material consumption and ensure efficient use of resources.

  • Assist in cost estimation and budget tracking for finishing activities.


Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Experience:

  • 6–10 years of experience in finishing works for large-scale construction or railway infrastructure projects.

  • Hands-on experience in plastering, flooring, painting, cladding, and other finishing works.

  • Experience in supervising subcontractors and managing on-site execution.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and finishing standards.

  • Familiarity with quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and safety standards.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
