🔹 1. Core Responsibility

Ensure that all construction and installation work meets design specifications, safety standards, and quality benchmarks for metro infrastructure (civil, track, electrical, signaling, etc.).


🔧 2. Key Duties

📋 Quality Inspection & Monitoring

  • Inspect ongoing work (concrete, steel, track laying, tunnels, stations).
  • Verify materials meet approved standards before use.
  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project specs.

🧪 Testing & Documentation

  • Conduct and witness tests (e.g., concrete cube test, soil compaction, weld tests).
  • Maintain QC records, reports, and checklists.
  • Review test certificates and lab reports.

📐 Standards Compliance

  • Ensure work follows:
    • Project specifications
    • IS codes / international standards
    • Safety norms
  • Coordinate with QA/QC managers for audits.

🏢 Coordination

  • Work with:
    • Site engineers
    • Contractors & subcontractors
    • Design teams
  • Report non-conformance issues and follow up on corrective actions.

⚠️ Non-Conformance Control

  • Identify defects or deviations.
  • Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Ensure rectification before approval.

📊 Reporting

  • Daily/weekly QC reports.
  • Progress updates related to quality.
  • Maintain inspection logs and documentation for audits.

🛠️ 3. Areas of Work in Metro Projects

You may work in one or more of these:

  • Civil works (stations, viaducts, tunnels)
  • Track work
  • Electrical systems (OHE, substations)
  • Signaling & telecom systems

🎓 4. Required Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • Diploma holders (for junior roles)
  • Certifications in QA/QC (preferred)

🧠 5. Key Skills

  • Knowledge of construction standards (IS codes)
  • Understanding of material testing
  • Attention to detail
  • Documentation & reporting skills
  • Communication & coordination

💼 6. Experience (Typical)

  • 0–3 years (Junior / Assistant Engineer level)
  • Experience in infrastructure or railway/metro projects is a plus
